Volunteers at an RSL Sub-Branch play an important role in supporting veterans, their families, and the local community. Their responsibilities may include:

• Welcoming members and visitors, providing information about the Sub-Branch and its services.
• Assisting with the organisation and delivery of commemorative events such as ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day services.
• Supporting veteran welfare programs by helping with outreach, welfare visits, transport, or connecting veterans with available services.
• Assisting with fundraising activities, community events, and social functions.
• Helping with administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, maintaining membership records, and preparing newsletters or correspondence.
• Setting up and packing down meeting rooms and event spaces.
• Providing hospitality by serving refreshments during meetings and community gatherings.
• Promoting the work of the Sub-Branch within the local community and encouraging membership and volunteer participation.
• Working as part of a team to maintain a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for veterans, serving members, their families, and the wider community.
• Following organisational policies, maintaining confidentiality where required, and upholding the values and traditions of the RSL.

Volunteers contribute their time and skills to preserve the legacy of service, provide practical support to veterans and their families, and strengthen community connections through remembrance, advocacy, and mateship.
