Wellbeing and Welfare
The welfare of the veteran community is a key object of the Sub-Branch; we pride ourselves on providing the best support to those in need, our ATDP qualified Wellbeing Officers will offer assistance in guiding you through the DVA Documentation, and providing assistance to those in hospital, or by providing support to veteran family members.
ATDP Wellbeing Officers
Are qualified members of the welfare team that can provide additional support that are not related to Compensation and Pensions. They can assist with Documentation from DVA or other Government agencies.
Hospital Visits and Support
Hospital and nursing home visits are only a minor role for the welfare team. They can provide assistance with hospital visits. These services are performed by our volunteers and are provided when welfare or support officers are available
Poppy Services
In order to provide the final farewell to any person who has served our nation whether or not they are RSL members. Our welfare officers will provide them with a Remembrance Ceremony. We will work with the family or funeral home to provide this service
Veterans Homelessness
Veteran homelessness has become a major issue in the wider veteran community, unfortunately with no easy solution as every person needs and or circumstances are unique. Our Sub-Branch attempts to provide support where we can, this may be by contacting RSL or even contacting other homelessness organisation. However sometimes to get the support you need the onus is the person to be open to options and provide the information that may be required. Never be insulted for someone asking you for proof of service, remember unfortunately imposters try to pass themselves off as servicemen and women to gain access to the support to the veteran community which they have earnt through service.
